From the RadioWest aircheck archives -

Bill Courage's first afternoon drive show on Vancouver's 99.3 the Fox after his departure from the morning show on rival, Rock 101 CFMI. On a Monday afternoon in late February 1994 Steve Dunbar introduces Bill, and Erin Davis updates the day's news.

While David Letterman's mom is at the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway reporting for his CBS Late Show, Bill's mom is at Safeway with her own take.

The Bill and Bob (Say) CFMI firing that Bill references in his first break marked a rather interesting chapter in Vancouver radio history. Their replacements, Tom (McGouran) and Jerry AKA Larry (Updike) lasted all of six months before the plug was pulled on the show, and Bob Say was brought back for mornings - if memory serves he spent the in between time doing fill-in work for CKNW. I have always been curious as to why the show was ended so abruptly, when normally stations (at least FM music stations) would give a show at least 1-2 years. Either way, CFMI's loss was CFOX's gain, as Bill had a successful 5.5 year run in PM drive. And hey, his mother Doty sounds pretty decent on this 'check as well! :)
