The Friday morning before Grey Cup 1989 and Don Slade was hosting the morning show on "Calgary's Best Country" 960 CFAC, in AM Stereo.

Don spent much of the 1980s at CFAC Radio after he and Howard Langdale's run as hosts of the late night "Hello Calgary" program ended on Channels 2 & 7 CFAC Television.

Slade and Langdale were friends for many years and each went to 2 & 7 after ending their respective morning shows on 810 CHQR and 1060 CFCN Calgary in 1981.

Don is among the early CJLH Television Lethbridge employees and spent many years in Winnipeg at CKRC and CJOB Radio. He succeeded his friend Howard at 1060 CKMX in Calgary after Howard's passing in March 1996.

Early in their careers, Slade and Langdale also worked together at CKCK Radio in Regina.

This aircheck was recorded not long after long-time morning man Ned Corrigal's departure following Rogers purchase of the station from Selkirk Communications.

Don was joined by newscaster Doug Anderson, sportscaster Keith Terry and Britt Matheson provided traffic reports.
