CFFR Calgary - Rob Alexander - 1984

From the RadioWest aircheck archives -

Here's Rob Alexander, only a few days after the January 10, 1984 (viewtopic.php?f=47&t=4850&p=12774287&hilit=66+cfr+launch#p12774287) launch of 66-CFR, presenting the Dedication Hour.

Some great station promos from Jerry Steen and Ronald T. Robinson are included in the aircheck. Rob, RTR and newsman Bruce Seely left 1060 CFCN, Calgary to join the new Rawlco station which went on to dramatically change radio in the city.

Anyone got a picture of Rob? And is my memory correct in thinking Rob is originally from Castlegar, BC?

Rob left 66CFR for PD of CJME Regina ( when I was in Regina at sister (Z99)in 86)) ...and would return circa 1990 as AMD and DJ ( and by that time RAWLCO transferred me to CFR as well).. Weird times at RAWLCO HQ as CFR shrunk the playlist and the free fall was about to start. CFR got the Flames NHL broadcasts the year AFTER the Stanley Cup win..lol :flames:

Rob was always easy to listen to very smooth and professional. The Big 66CFR had huge talent that went along the huge signal.I for one liked the format and the jocks were the best...Jerry,Joanne,Rob,RTR,Pat O,Don L, Shannon Cooke and the list goes on.PatiO and I used to hang out at Henrie's Pub at the Sheraton up the street.Good memories.Never met Rob but still a fan.
