For a short period in 1991 Vancouver had two Adult Standards AM stations. 1040 KICKS dropped Top 40 and became MAGIC 104 complete with Bobby Ocean imaging. Market veteran DOC HARRIS along with newcomer KIM SEALE held down the morning spot at CIMA 1040. Today, Doc handles PMD at CISL 650 and Kim is in the air doing traffic for NEWS 1130 and JACK FM.

Wow! I think that's the most energy I've heard in an aircheck of a standards station. completely different from what Memory Music 1320 AM was doing then, or even Q-104 a couple years later. Doc and Kim sound great together. How long was the station on the air, and who made up the rest of the on-air lineup? Love Doc's "giant parking lot" quip, I gather the writing was on the wall by this time. If memory serves, Coast moved from 800 to 1040 by February or March of 1992. I was only seven at the time, but vaguely recall flipping the dial one Monday afternoon and being puzzled by random snipits of music, and a message telling listeners to tune in at 10:40 the next day.
