Time to adjust your time setting

Time to adjust your time setting

Postby jon » Sun Mar 08, 2015 7:40 am

With the arrival of DST this morning, Members will need to go to the User Control Panel to change to Daylight Saving Time (DST). If you are in Saskatchewan you may ignore this notice.

Look for and click on the User Control Panel link near the top of this page.

Click on the Board Preferences tab.

Set the "Summer Time/DST is in effect:" field to Yes.

Click on Submit.

If the time is not displaying correctly, go back to the same place and be sure the "My timezone" field is set correctly. Plus, you are only controlling the time that is displayed when you are logged on. When you are logged off, I control the time setting and, whenever I wake up in the morning, I will set it to Pacific Daylight Saving Time.

The software we use is called phpBB. It does not offer automatic time changes for DST.

For my own interest, I checked phpBB's support site before I responded last time. I found a "MOD" that someone had built to automate the DST changes.

Unfortunately, when I clicked on that particular MOD, I discovered that the Author had "deconceived" it, as my favourite University Prof used to call it when a software manufacturer denied ever having even thought of the idea of a piece of software they had been pre-selling just a few years earlier.
