Happy Birthday Radiofan Ted!!

Hi Ted,

Happy Birthday. Aging is no joy...but you are. I enjoyed my years at NW with you and we had many laughs. I could always count on you to slip some Motown onto the playlist to keep me sane from all the crap NW seemed to play then. You do a great job with this site and it's appreciated.

Oh, and if this is not Ted Wendland...I don't mean a word of it.

Have a great Birthday - The Beatles

Thanks Rich! The Motown tunes were a must. We had to have something listenable between the Christopher Cross, Peter Pringle and Captain & Tennille tunes!

Hope you can make it to the Radio West GTG this Sunday (9th)!

Radiofan... You're the only guy I know who manages to milk his birthday for almost two months! Hope you're enjoying it and feeling better from the bug you had. And oh... what the hell... :occasion4: ....again. ;-)

Look at the original post. It was almost a year and two months.
To paraphrase another thread....Birthdays with Short Memories. ;-)

haha that IS funny. Thank you Russ for bringing this to our attention - you trusty news guys always get to the bottom of the details!! :-) I'm going to blame this brainfart on DJ ZigZag. He was the one who gave me a 'hedzup' about Ted's birthday today. Hey Ted - have an awesome encore birthday

Damn it Russ ... I was expecting some free dinners here! It was Bill Reiter who resurrected the thread, not me! :sign5:

This is starting to sound like the legendary Morning Man of the Carolinas, Jack Gale. Every morning, with the possible exception of his real birthday, he would say it was his birthday on the air, and celebrate with listeners, including working the phones, just as if it were.

He did that for decades, and inspired many DJs with this and many other original ideas for Morning Radio.

As noted above..."Damn it Russ... I was expecting some free dinners here!" :tail

I guarantee that you will not have to pay for your lunch at the next GTG. :occasion4:

There ya go! Larry's got the spirit! Let's schedule a few more GTG's and maybe a few more free lunches!! It's been a lot of years since the days of signing for contra lunches at J.R. Houstons, Goldstein & Chan's, Tony Romas, My Marvin's and of course Nick's Steakhouse up on Crowchild!
