American Top 40 implies that there are 40 quality tunes that are worthy
of a countdown, believe me, this ain't the case. I listen quite frequently to
the Beat and Zed, because my daughter really likes both stations. (In that order
I might add). I just wish I could hear "Sexyback" by Justin Timberlake a
few more times! Who appointed him to bring sexyback, was there a national
commission. The Beat announcers are okay, although I sometimes feel like
I'm eavesdropping on a cellphone conversation between 20 something girls that
is beyond vacant. The energy is high on the Beat, and you do get the feeling
they are a pretty tight operation on and off the air. Oh, one thing I DESPISE
is when they call him "Boss Chris". I couldn't hate that more if I had to
reinvent the word hate. And I don't even know why.
Promotionally, the Beat does a lot to get involved with shows in town, and
even put on their own, their interviewing style is interesting, especially with
hip-hop artists, although I've heard some good interviews too. Zed has a soft
spot in my heart, because they gave my daughter a free hot dog outside Scottsdale a few weeks ago and were very nice.
