Happy Canada Day everyone!

Just watching some of the Canada Day in the Capital broadcast on CBC has been interesting. The sound quality and camerawork has been excellent. Strumbellas and William Prince singing Wild Sun made you feel that you, family and friends were sitting around a campfire up north singing, really special moment. It takes a lot of work to make a bilingual broadcast entertaining but this year has been better than most, certainly was an honest effort and overall not bad.

Coeur de Pirate (Beatrice Martin) and Brett Kissel were both excellent. Brett could be played on AC radio, don't know why none of his music has crossed over from the country charts. Sort of too bad it is only broadcast once, should be repeated maybe once overnight.

Noticed that two of the Stingray music channels were broadcasting 100% Canadian videos today. And Stingrays BOOM FM in Toronto played the 97 top Canadian songs today from 10am to 6pm. To their credit they included a few songs that they wouldn't normally play, such as the Hockey Song by Stompin Tom and Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen.
