TED Radio Hour Launches On Bell Media News/Talk Stations

Bell Media Radio announced today it has secured the weekly, one-hour series TED Radio Hour for its family of news/talk radio stations. Based on talks given by riveting speakers on the world-renowned TEDstage and seen online by more than one billion viewers, TED Radio Hour debuts Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3. Episodes slated to air in the first four weeks feature speakers including Chris Hadfield, Bill Gates, Richard Branson, James Cameron, Tony Robbins, Sheryl Sandberg, Sting, and Temple Grandin.

Bell Media Radio’s News/Talk stations are poised to raise the stakes on fascinating ideas as presented by the world’s most remarkable minds withTED Radio Hour. Hosted by Guy Raz and heard on NPR in the United States, is a journey through fascinating ideas: astonishing inventions, fresh approaches to old problems, new ways to think and create.

“The remarkable voices and exceptional talents presented in each show are a natural fit for Bell Media Radio’s news/talk stations, where ideas, innovation, and critical thinking are the cornerstones of our programming,” said Randy Lennox, President, Entertainment Production and Broadcasting, Bell Media.

Each episode is centered on a common theme – such as the source of happiness, crowd-sourcing innovation, power shifts, or inexplicable connections – and injects soundscapes and conversations that bring these ideas to life. TED Radio Hour is a co-production of NPR and TED.

TED is a non-profit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California over 30 years ago, TED has grown into a global platform for identifying and spreading those ideas. The annual TED Conference and TEDGlobal Conferences invite the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for up to 18 minutes. Their talks are then made available, free, at TED.com and through TED distribution partners. Follow TED on Twitter or on Facebook.
