Red Robinson Show Theatre name changes - WHY?

The Great Canadian Gaming Company in their infinite wisdom has renamed the Casino in Coquitlam to the Hard Rock and - what is more bizarre - Red Robinson's name was taken off the Marquee and the Casino is now called "The Joint".

Michael Buble and Bruce allen and many of us are backing a petition on Facebook and at Change.org - to get the name change dropped.

It is an insult to one of this Country's great pioneers and talents.

I haven't followed this story too carefully, but it sounded to me like just another instance of that 20 year old money grab called Naming Rights. Staples will give you $150,000 if you rename your sports arena The Staples Centre. Too bad if you no longer honour your team's first Coach who gave your team five Stanley Cups.
