Gordon "Gordie" Rose passes

Veteran Lower Mainland broadcaster Gordon Rose passed away in hospital on Friday Jul 17th at age 90.

During his 35 year career, Gordie hosted the DX Prowl on CKMO (1945), worked as an announcer and copy writer at CHWK in Chilliwack from 1945 to 1953. In 1953 he joined the CKNW newsroom where he worked until 1955 when he moved to CFUN (the former CKMO) to host Double It until 1957. In 1963 he joined Joe Chesney in launching CJJC Langley. He was Assistant Manger there until 1965 when he returned to CHWK where he worked in News and Sales until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of the CAB Quarter Century Club.

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.
