Pattison's NOW Radio 94.3 became ALT 94.3 (Winnipeg's Music Alternative) at Midnight CDT on October 30th.
The final song played on NOW was "Goodbye" by The Spice Girls

Peggy started as a mix of 80's and now and Hot 100.5 started as 90's and now. Before Peggy flipped to country, the two stations were practically identical, except Peggy emphasized the 80s while Hot 100.5 emphasizes the 90s. So 94.3's glip makes sense because there is a market for alternative music in Winnipeg. While it does suck for fans of Now 94.3, not to mention the layoffs, it shows there's a market for alternative music in the listening area.
I don't post here much and I'm actually from the Brandon area, but I have seen various changes in radio out here too. But it's odd that gthey flipped now instead of flipping to Christmas music and then switching on Boxing Day. But that's just me.

I think it might be safe to assume that Kiss 102.3 has a Christmas Monopoly now (they haven't flipped yet they're probably going to wait til after Remembrance Day or something....I don't want to hear Mariah's Glockenspiel til after the 2 mins of silence either)

I have heard from many people that it is believe Kiss will flip to Christmas running the Santa radio format that is operating on the Jack Smiths Falls, and then after Christmas they would launch as Jack FM
