Radio Sticker Of The Day - June 4

Postby radiofan » Mon Jun 03, 2019 8:18 pm

From the RadioWest.ca archives and my collection of 20,000+ window and bumper stickers from radio stations around the world, a daily look back featuring stickers from stations across Canada that no longer exist due to a call letter or frequency change, rebranding or a move from AM to FM.

A 1999 sticker from CFOK 1370 in Westlock, AB. In 2011 the station moved to FM and became CKWB 97.9, The Range. Today it's branded as Real Country 97.9.

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Wow! Did they actually USE those call letters? I'd love to hear their station breaks... ;-)

Not for a long time. They were part of a group and ID'ed as such. Most recently "The Fox" and "Cat Country" before that.

And, for quite a number of years before Industry Canada started enforcing the rules, most stations did not do hourly Top of the Hour "Legal IDs" with call letters.
