Radio Sticker Of The Day - January 16

Radio Station window and bumper stickers from Radio Stations across Canada that no longer exist

Radio Sticker Of The Day - January 16

Postby radiofan » Wed Jan 16, 2019 10:38 am

From the RadioWest.ca archives and my collection of 20,000+ window and bumper stickers from radio stations around the world, a daily look back featuring stickers from stations across Canada that no longer exist due to a call letter or frequency change, rebranding or a move from AM to FM.

In 1988, Vancouvers CJOR 600 became Classic Rock CHRX. Today, the old CJOR/CHRX/CKBD is The Peak 102.7.

What a great idea! How did you ever accumulate that many station stickers? Looking forward to this feature!

Now, THAT was a radio station.

everywhere, y'all,
I heard it, I heard it,
I heard it on the X.”

Funny, but I was just reading last night that Seattle's Phil Bytheway has over 40,000 stickers. Not trying to lessen radiofan's collection size, but I had never really thought about numbers that large for sticker collections. From my QSL card days, one thousand sounds huge.

Just now, I read where a fellow in Italy has 330,000 stickers. Now he would really have a storage problem.

Since the late 1960's Cam, I've typed a lot of letters, bought a lot of stamps, visited hundreds of radio stations and traded with many collectors ... now I have filing cabinets full of stickers all sorted and listed by province, state, city etc.

And, I have hundreds of duplicates if there is any other collectors out there that want to trade etc.

Allegedly Jon. None of us sticker collectors have ever seen his collection to confirm those numbers.
