Great find! What vintage is the label?
CKOV did some entertaining, old school promotions. In the late 70s they still employed a promo/sales person (Deb?) who had jocks jumping into gigantic vats of jello, riding circus elephants, entering bellyflop contests, racing stock cars and other assorted madness to draw crowds to station sponsored events.
For a couple of summers, we'd spend a day or two broiling and broadcasting our daytime shows live from the site of the bachanallia known as Kelowan Regatta. Beach, boats, babes, tunes and a constant 26 degrees.... not a lot of show prep to do.
However, there was a trick to jocking live on race days. You had to keep one eye/ear on the hydroplanes, because the lakeside course was only fifty yards from the station trailer...and if the thunderboats roared by in the middle of your live break, the hellish racket would push your vu needle through the red, and down to the floor.. your ears would ring for ten minutes. Good times!
