2022 a year of radio station anniversaries - audio, please

While 2022 marks the centennial of a number of radio stations, as noted by cart_machine et. al., it also marks the 40th anniversaries of a number of Alberta FM stations -

Q107 Calgary (CFGQ formerly CKIK) 15 April 1982 launch

CISN Country 103.9 Edmonton 5 June 1982 launch

Chuck at 92.5 Edmonton (CKNG formerly CJAX) 11 August 1982 launch

Country 105 Calgary (CKRY) 9 July 1982 launch

And C-JAY 92 Calgary will mark its 45th anniversary on June 1st.

I would be remiss if I neglected to also note the July 1982 launch of Medicine Hat's 1390 CJCY AM which became MY 96 FM (CFMY) in 1998.

We would like to acknowledge the above with audio and your other memories, too.

If you, or someone you know, may have a copy of the stations' launches or other airchecks (jingles and photos, too) please let us know. We would be pleased to share the audio and visual history here on RadioWest. Your PM or e-mail to radiowest@telus.net is welcomed.
