Let's face it--the corporate owners have gutted their local news departments to a shadow of their former selves. There's no investigative reporting, no breaking of "big local stories,"--nothing.
C-FAX has become a "newspaper of the air." And by that I mean, they will even lead an 8:00 a.m. Monday morning newscast, for example, with some crime story that happened on the previous Friday evening. Obviously, picked up from reading the Victoria Times-Colonist newspaper's Sunday edition. Where is the immediacy of radio news? Only a few years ago, it was the radio stations that reported the news first and would never be heard running a two or three-day old story. Shame on the so-called local stations and what they have become.

C-FAX was truly pathetic their response to Tsunami warning from over a year ago when they continued to run 24-hour Canadian Press newscast instead of interrupting with local coverage. It took listening to Las Vegas news station to find out what was happening. Morning comes and C-FAX personalities on-air are patting themselves on the back for doing what I have no clue.
C-FAX went downhill the second Bell bought the station. No-one at the station even worth listening too. Adam Stirling is such a drama queen and self proclaimed expert on all matters which begs the obvious why he doesn't run for political office. He's so full of himself. Any caller he disagrees with consists of heavy breathing along with huffing and puffing. I've been a listener of C-FAX since the days of Barry Bowman/Frank Stanford/Joe Easingwood/Terry Spence etc. quite sad to see what's happened to this once very proud station has become.
