Corus Radio CE Jack Hoeppner Passes Away

Postby jon » Thu Apr 07, 2011 8:11 am

Jack Hoeppner, National Director, Engineering for Corus Radio, died yesterday morning after a heart attack last week. His 40 year career began in Manitoba, building radio stations. Ironically, his last major project was also there.

Jack then spent many years with TransWorld Radio, best known for 500,000 watt PJB on 800 KHz in Bonaire, Netherland Antilles, in the Caribbean just off the South American coast. He also worked on their radio stations in South Africa and Costa Rica.

For the last 15 years, Jack has worked for Corus, and recently received the Canada Central Broadcast Engineers (C.C.B.E.) Lifetime Achievement Award. His most recent project was the new Corus offices in Winnipeg.
